What is a nexus letter?
A nexus letter is a professional medical opinion written by a licensed psychologist that explains the connection (“nexus”) between a Veteran’s current mental health condition and their military service. It is used as supporting evidence for VA disability claims.
How is a nexus letter different from a VA Compensation & Pension (C&P) exam?
A nexus letter is an independent medical opinion, not a VA examination. C&P exams are ordered by the VA to determine disability status, while a nexus letter is requested by the Veteran to strengthen their case.
What do I need to provide for a nexus letter?
What are the package options and costs?
How long does it take to receive a nexus letter?
Turnaround time varies, but most nexus letters are completed within 2 weeks after all necessary records are received.
Will you testify or attend VA hearings for my case?
Currently, services are limited to record review, therapeutic evaluation (if selected), and the preparation of a nexus letter. Testimony or direct representation at VA hearings is not included.
