What is a nexus letter?
A nexus letter is a professional medical opinion written by a licensed psychologist that explains the connection (“nexus”) between a Veteran’s current mental health condition and their military service. It is used as supporting evidence for VA disability claims.
How is a nexus letter different from a VA Compensation & Pension (C&P) exam?
A nexus letter is an independent medical opinion, not a VA examination. C&P exams are ordered by the VA to determine disability status, while a nexus letter is requested by the Veteran to strengthen their case.
What do I need to provide for a nexus letter?
What are the package options and costs?
How does payment work?
Services are billed step-by-step rather than as a lump sum. Each component (e.g., record review, intake, therapy session, nexus letter) is completed and billed individually so you only pay for services as they occur.
What if I’m unsure which package I need?
If you are uncertain whether the Nexus Letter Only or Comprehensive Nexus Package is the best fit, we can begin with a record review and/or intake appointment. After reviewing your history and documentation, we can recommend the most appropriate option for your situation.
How long does it take to receive a nexus letter?
Turnaround time varies, but most nexus letters are completed within 2 weeks after all necessary records are received.
Will you testify or attend VA hearings for my case?
Currently, services are limited to record review, therapeutic evaluation (if selected), and the preparation of a nexus letter. Testimony or direct representation at VA hearings is not included.

Rox the Doc does not guarantee:
All disability determinations are made solely by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Our role is limited to providing independent psychological evaluation and medical opinions based on clinical judgment and available documentation.
Clients are solely responsible for providing complete, truthful, and accurate records and history. Failure to submit sufficient documentation or relevant records may affect the ability to render a medical opinion. This does not constitute grounds for a refund.
All opinions are based on professional clinical judgment, psychological testing (when applicable), record review, and ethical standards of practice. If, after evaluation, the provider determines that a Nexus opinion cannot be supported clinically, that determination is final. When appropriate, therapy and forensic/nexus services may be separated to preserve clinical objectivity and ethical boundaries.
